Allis Chalmers 712 Parts Manual
2-Cycle Equipment A basic spring service performed each year should include, at least, the following; Sharpen or Replace and Adjust Chain (chainsaw) as needed. Inspect air filter for dirt accumulation now, and before each usage and clean or replace. Replace air filter after 25 hours.
Inspect spark plug/s every 25 hours and replace if fouled. Inspect entire unit including all wear items such as control cables, sprockets, handles, tubes and other parts and watch for worn, cracked, pinched or otherwise damaged parts, and replace if found. Drain fuel-mix from fuel system and replace with fresh fuel-mix if it has been over three months since last usage without fuel stabilizer. If performing and end-of-season service, drain fuel tank or run engine until it runs out of fuel.
(alternatively you may dose 'fresh' fuel-mix with a fuel stabilizer).
Allis Chalmers 712s Garden Tractors
Lots of different attachments for these. Plows, grader blades, garden implements such as tillers, moldboard plows, disks and cultivators, snowblowers, leaf vacuums and more. Simplicities are partially shaft driven. The driveshaft runs from the engine to the bevel gear box in the center of the tractor. From there, a shaft goes out one side to a pulley drive with a belt to the transmission in the rear, and out the other to the PTO.
Don't let the belt drive fool you though. If properly maintained the drive system does not slip. If anything the tires will spin or the motor will stall before the pulleys spin in the belts. 3 point hitch, no, unless you can hook up hydraulics and fabricate one.
However, these tractors do have a rear lift hitch that works quite well with the attachments that are designed for it and its fairly easy to get a sleeve hitch adapter for aftermarket stuff. No shaft driven implements. Mower decks, tillers, vaccuums, snowblowers etc are belt driven from the PTO pulleys. Chains work ok, weights work ok, chains with weights work better. Depends on just how much you are pushing and how slippery the surface underneath is. If the tractor has turf tires you'll at least need chains.
I have ag tires, chains, 192 lbs of weights on the rear wheels, 60 lbs on the front wheels, and a 71 lb rear counterweight. The chains I don't use much except when the snow is really deep or has ice under it. When it comes to pushing, more weight is always good, but chains may be needed to give some bite on an icy driveway. I also have a 716H.
712 is basically same tractor w smaller motor - doesn't make any difference really. They use Kohler motors in the AC 700'S and AC 900's whereas the equivalent Simplicity model use Briggs motors.
Allis Chalmers Manuals Pdf
There's a good 'Allis Chalmers Manual' for the entire series of AC 700 tractors = 710, 712, 714, 716 (hydros and 6speeds and shuttles - the 712 comes with either Shuttle=712S, or Hydro=712H). You can dload the manual and read all about it here: Note - the Simplicity website DOES NOT have this manual available. And this manual is not the same as equivalent simp manual for a 7012, 7014, etc. It has some valuable info in it, that's not available elsewhere - it has an AC attitude Also you can get Kohler engine manuals free dload at kohler site, if you want to read up on that too - some of that info is in the AC manual also.
